OpenWHO is an interactive knowledge-transfer platform developed by the World Health Organization (WHO). It aims to enhance the response to health emergencies by offering online courses. The platform allows the Organization and its partners to effectively share life-saving knowledge with frontline responders.

OpenWHO offers learners the flexibility to study at their own convenience. The platform provides short video lectures and self-tests for assessing knowledge. Additionally, participants can engage with fellow learners and experts worldwide through the course forum and collaboration space.

This platform is primarily designed for healthcare workers, frontline responders, and decision-makers. However, it also serves as a valuable source of information for individuals affected by disease outbreaks and health emergencies, as well as those interested in WHO's work in this field.

OpenWHO features six channels, each addressing specific aspects of health emergencies:
<ul>
 <li>Outbreak: Provides essential scientific information on managing infectious diseases.</li>
 <li>Ready for Response: Assists personnel in training for deployment to handle disease outbreaks and health emergencies.</li>
 <li>Get Social: Focuses on social science-based interventions and effective communication with affected communities.</li>
 <li>Preparing for Pandemics: Offers courses on preparedness, including surveillance, public health measures, and risk communication during a pandemic.</li>
 <li>COVID-19: Provides learning resources in WHO's official languages for health professionals, decision-makers, and the public regarding the outbreak of COVID-19.</li>
 <li>COVID-19 National Languages: Same learning resources as the COVID-19 channel, but available in national languages such as Indonesian, Japanese, and Portuguese.</li>
</ul>

Courses on OpenWHO are available in multiple languages, including WHO's official languages. To join the OpenWHO community and access these courses, download the app now.

This app is a collaborative effort between the Hasso Plattner Institute and WHO. The learning content is exclusively provided by WHO.
